Doubles | Triples

In the trucking industry, there are many different types of trucks and trailers that are used to move freight. However, one of the types of shipments that you do not hear about often is doubles and triples.

Doubles and triples are just that – one truck wither pulling two trailers or three trailers. Companies may opt for this type of shipment when there is a large volume of product that needs to be moved to one location, or there is a shortage of drivers to move the shipment in multiple loads.

Drivers who move doubles and triples need special endorsements on their licenses to show that they can operate these vehicles safely. It takes special knowledge and skill to operate these extra-long vehicles on the roadways.

Additionally, many states have special requirements for running these vehicles on the roads. They may limit which roads can be used or even the time of day that these trailers can be on the road. If you need to use a double or triple trailer service, you will need to work with a company that can comply with all of these regulations.

AmeriCargo Has The Experience You Need

If you have a large volume of product that needs to ship simultaneously and you think it would be beneficial to use a double or triple trailer, speak with one of our representatives.

Our logistics department can verify if this is the best choice to move your goods.

We will look at the most cost-effective routes to your destination and determine if these trailers can be used on these roads. We will also examine any special permits that may be needed or other fees that may be associated with operating these long trailers.

If we find that you could move your goods more effectively with two or three trucks for cost and time savings, we will make the recommendations. Our goal is to provide 100 percent satisfaction with our service.

We may also recommend single trailers for the movement of your goods if the truck has to go into areas where there is excessive construction or dangerous weather conditions like heavy snow or ice.

Because of their length and how the trailers connect, these trailers can be more hazardous to operate under those conditions. For the safety of our drivers and the protection of your loads, we may recommend a different shipping method in these areas.
